Capturing Inspiration: Documenting the Magenta Project's Foiling Clinic in Barcelona

I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph and film the Foiling Clinic for women organized by the Magenta Project in Barcelona during the final week of the 37th America's Cup. This wasn't just another assignment for me; it was a chance to witness firsthand the remarkable efforts being made to empower women in sailing.

From behind the lens, I watched as these talented sailors harnessed the wind and waves, mastering the art of foiling with determination and grace. Their passion was palpable, and their camaraderie was truly inspiring. Each moment captured told a story of perseverance, skill, and the breaking of boundaries in a sport traditionally dominated by men.

Being part of this event allowed me to contribute to a movement that is not only transforming the landscape of sailing but also providing strong role models for future generations. The Magenta Project's mission to inspire, upskill, and change the culture in sailing resonated deeply with me. By showcasing these incredible women, I hope to highlight the possibilities that exist when equality and inclusion are at the forefront.

It's experiences like these that reaffirm my belief in the power of storytelling through visual media. I am grateful to have played a small part in amplifying the voices and achievements of these extraordinary women, and I look forward to seeing how their journeys will continue to inspire others around the world.

As a photographer and a father of two girls, this experience resonated with me on a deeply personal level. I feel a huge responsibility to help create a world where my daughters—and all young women—can pursue any path they choose without limitations. By capturing and sharing the stories of these remarkable women sailors, I aim to inspire future generations to break barriers and redefine what's possible. It's not just about documenting moments; it's about contributing to a movement that empowers women to be whoever they want to be.

This video and photo collection represent just a fraction of the story I was willing to tell and it was intended as the prelude to a much larger documentary.
